Terms of Service

Welcome to PraatMet! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the PraatMet mobile application (the "App") operated by Adda Ventures ("we", "us", or "our").

By using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Description of Service

PraatMet is a Dutch language learning app that provides:

• Real-time voice conversations with an AI conversation partner
• Language level assessment
• Practice scenarios for everyday situations
• Progress tracking and feedback

2. Account Registration

• You must sign in with Apple (iOS) or Google (Android) to use the App
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
• You must be at least 13 years old to use the App
• You agree to provide accurate information

3. Subscriptions and Payments

Free Trial

• New users may be offered a free trial on the yearly plan, with full access for the trial period
• Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts and is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account
• Free trials are available once per user and only to users who have not subscribed before

Free Tier (accounts created before August 2026)

• Accounts created before the introduction of free trials keep 10 minutes of practice time per month
• All features are available within the time limit
• Accounts created after that date require an active trial or subscription to practise

Pro Subscription

• Pro subscribers receive unlimited practice time, subject to a fair-use limit
• Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through Apple (iOS) or Google Play (Android)
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings (iOS) or Google Play > Subscriptions (Android)

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's services
• Use the App to generate harmful, abusive, or inappropriate content
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code
• Use automated systems to access the App

5. Intellectual Property

• The App and its content are owned by Adda Ventures
• You retain ownership of your conversation transcripts
• You grant us a license to use your data to provide and improve the service
• You may not copy, modify, or distribute the App without permission

6. AI-Generated Content

• Responses from the AI conversation partner are generated by artificial intelligence
• While we strive for accuracy, AI responses may contain errors
• The App is a learning tool, not a replacement for professional language instruction
• We are not responsible for decisions made based on AI-generated content

7. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE:

• The App will be available at all times
• The App will be error-free
• Learning outcomes or language proficiency improvements
• The accuracy of AI-generated feedback

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ADDA VENTURES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.

9. Termination

• You may stop using the App at any time
• We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms
• Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately
• You may request deletion of your data by contacting us

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the Netherlands.
